QUALITY WATCH REPAIR and RESTORATION

ABOUT ME
My name is Jay Cline. I live in Grafton, WV, a historic railroad town, and birthplace of Mother's Day founder Anna Jarvis. It is a town of slopes and high hills that rise sharply from a cup-shaped valley spanning the Tygart River. Grafton got its name from railroad crews who called it "Grafin" because it was the point where a number of branch lines met the mainline of the railroad. I grew up attentive to the rhythmic ticking sounds of my Great Grandpa Harry Richman's 1930 Hamilton 992 RR Pocket Watch, and my Grandpa Willis Hovatter's B. W. Raymond (Elgin 571)RR Pocket Watch. I think about the miles of track they walked, working the flesh off their bones to provide for their families, and for the mighty B&O Railroad.

Education
I graduated from Gem City College's School of Horology [Gr. ωρα "hour, time" + λογος "word, thing, event, study of" ]. I service and repair watches and clocks.

Other
I received my BA in Pastoral Studies/Languages (Greek and Hebrew)from Eugene Bible College in Eugene, OR in 1994. I was a United Methodist Pastor for eight-years; worked on my M.Div at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary; and was a machinist, making parts for local coal mines. I am skilled with a watchmakers lathe, an etymologist, and fly fisherman.

I have two exceptional daughters: Deborah and Anna, and a lovely wife, Julia.
